Right. I'm back, I think.

Have spent the past few weeks wandering around feeling like something (or rather, sixteen someones) is missing. Have caught up on sleep missed during Clarion South, have scratched the cooking bug, have looked vaguely at my piles of critted manuscripts and thought, "gee, better start revising...". (Have nearly finished revising week six's story). Have read. Have written Stuff. Have caught up on the ungodly "skip four hundred-and-something" flist.

As is abundantly clear, I am a terrible procrastinator when it comes to actually *writing* clarionfishy. It's on the list, but it's not high priority.

1. Can you cook?
No. I can follow a recipe decently enough to make brownies, though.

2. What was your dream growing up?
I hopped from dream to dream. Writing, acting, astrophysics...

3. What talent do you wish you had?
Singing. My mother and stepfather were opera singers (not as their main jobs, Mom was an accountant, Stepdad a high school teacher, both retired now), so I had every chance to learn. Mom says that my brain hears tones well, but just can't get my vocal chords to make them. Which she says is pretty normal. But it still annoys me.

4. Favorite place?
Other than home... a gem and mineral store in Tuscon, Arizona called Dah Rock Shop. Very cool, despite the name (it used to be called the Agate House, I liked that name better).

5. Favorite vegetable?
Celery.

6. What was the last book you read?
All the way through: "Men At Arms" by Terry Pratchett (I'm rereading the Watch-centric books in the Discworld series). Partially: The Dungeons and Dragons Player's Handbook.

Taurus. The profile fits me pretty well.

8. Any tattoos and/or piercings?
No tattoos, pierced ears. I wear small silver hoops 24/7.

Not eating well. I live on Hot Pockets and Balance Bars most of the time.

Martial arts. And if that doesn't count... I don't know, I'm indifferent to them. I guess baseball, that's the only one whose rules I know well enough to really follow.

People casually insulting emo. It's often hard not to interpret it as insulting people with depression, and people can be really cruel about emos. (I've seen people say that emos should kill themselves. It seems to be socially acceptable to say things like that. How the hell did that happen?)

Sort of. I can definitely bake. You've tasted it.

I wanted to be a baker(!). Then I wanted to make video games. And then I discovered that I'd really always wanted to write, since I'd been doing it in one form or another since age 5 or so.

I'm pretty happy with the one I've got. Though I wish I could draw as well.
