One Year Later
Mar. 16th, 2006 11:12 pmIt's my one-year blogaversary!
In honour of this fact, I solemnly swear to sit down tomorrow, finish editing the story I've been working on, and send it out. It's only a few bits of dialogue and the odd beat or two - chocolate/zucchini/orange muffins can wait.
Also, I don't know anything about the fanart side of fandom, who the Big Name Artists are or where to find them, but these two recently came to my attention and I had to share (given my utter n00bitude, every man and his dog probably knows all about them already):
First,
twirlynoodle, aka Tealin. Her main section is devoted to Harry Potter, but it's her Discworld sketches I adore. Most are still on her livejournal, but many can be found here on her other site. My favourites are from Monstrous Regiment, such as this one of Polly and the maid
(The maid drew closer. ... Polly raised the onions as a kind of barrier.
'I'm sure there's things you'd like to learn,' the maid purred.
'I'm sure there's something you wouldn't!' said Polly, and turned and ran. (pg 78))
and this one of Lt. Blouse
(Polly was no expert in these matters, but she thought she recognized the stylish, flamboyant pose as the one beginners tend to use just before they're stabbed through the heart by a more experienced fighter. (pg 75))
And for random silliness, How To Be A Clacks Tower For Halloween.
(also, a Good Omens sketch: Ligur and Hastur give Crowley the assignment he can't refuse)
The second artist is Makani, whose Harry Potter art and sketches can be found at accioBRAIN! (omg the roll-over Death Mark! It basically sums up her entire site). Very heavy focus on the Malfoys and Lestranges, and brilliant in both serious and humorous art. (Rachael, I think you'd particularly enjoy the sketches in "silliness"):
*Black family tree issue; also solves a few mysteries of the Black sisters
*Peeps...Voldemort's natural allies...
*Fun with masks
*Mollywobbles
*Narcissa's first love?...(aka Cissy the fangirl)
*McGonagall, Trelawney, Lupin, Snape
*HBP - Spinner's End
and...Go! Explore! There's too many favourites for me to post.
Thee Ende.
