Putting it together...
May. 28th, 2006 11:06 pmWahoo! Just finished piecing the last block of my winter quilt!! My exclamation marks floweth over!!!
Never thought I'd start quilting ("isn't that what - you know - grannies and scary spinster aunts do?"), but first I helped
quilters_block pick out colours for quilts, and then she bought a quilt-design program and I fiddled around with the blocks and colours because the pretties!, and suddenly I had quilt designs I wanted to see in real life and she was busy with other projects and the sewing machine was *right there*...

So the last block of my firstest ever quilt is pressed, and maybe tomorrow I'll start piecing them all together with the sashing (infinitely easier than trying to make points and seams line up). And then there will be borders to cut and sew, and tacking together the layers, and figuring out whether I'm quilting by machine or by hand, and binding...
And then, and then, there will be a quilt to snuggle under while watching tv. And the hooks dig in deeper, and I have a newhabit hobby to mix with the rest.
