NaNoPloMo, and a little light reading
Oct. 1st, 2006 10:45 pmSeeing as how November and NaNoWriMo are just around the corner, October is herefore dubbed NaNoPloMo (National Novel Plotting Month). Don't mind me if I suddenly start babbling about the proper placement of red herrings.
Meanwhile, a list of fic recs dating back many a month. Um. It's not as long as it looks, honest...
*Blue Box Blues by
zhiverny6. From the
ithurtsmybrain pairing list, #281: Mickey Smith/Drusilla. Mickey meets a nice girl. (BtVS/Doctor Who)
*Rash(ness) by
astarvingwriter. (Labyrinth/House, MD)
*White Horses & Tails by Rhi. Saul Panzer's eyes are too sharp, and he's seen Russell Nash three times in ten years. (Nero Wolfe/Highlander)
(Rhi's other entries for crossover100 - claiming Highlander - can be found here.)
And then...well, I've obviously found a new fandom, judging by the number of Supernatural-related fic I've accumulated here. I managed to miss it on tv, so I am slowly catching up with the DVDs. (Slowly because, like X-Files, my ideal non-flinching-at-shadows viewing time is around midday. Don't need no jumpscares before bedtime, nosir.)
*One Shot by
trollogicfics. Set after Devil's Trap. There's a body in the back seat. (Supernatural)
*Let Him Be Righteous Still by
trollprincess (written for
vylit's Johnny Cash Multifandom Ficathon). John Winchester. There's a man going around taking names... (Supernatural)
*The gods might offer gifts by
iseult_variante. America is a bad land for gods; it is a cruel land for heroes. (Supernatural/American Gods)
*Unto Every Generation... by
medie. The Winchester boys, an original (unnamed) slayer. Post-Dead Man's Blood. The Colt's not the only weapon Daniel was hiding... (Supernatural/BtVS)
*Salt Take the Heathen Part One and Part Two of a projected 5 chapters, by
sanyin. WiP. 1876. The Winchester boys head into town. (Supernatural/Deadwood)
A series by
vaznetti: Blessings Against the Thunder. Supernatural/Firefly, post-Serenity. Zoe Washburne/John Winchester.

"Don't know about your old man," Jayne says, "but captain's plans don't always go all smooth-like."
Dean takes the grenades. "I hear you."
And finally, four by
lyrstzha:
*Five things Spike does with Angel's ashes. (Angel)
*From a Safe Distance. An absolutely heartbreaking post-Serenity look at Zoe, dealing. (Firefly)
*Little Red Riding Simon and the Big Bad Jayne. Crack!fic at its fluffiest. Simon/Jayne. Old Book warned Little Red Riding Simon to stay on the path, because there were scary Reavers in the woods who might eat up sweet little boys. And not in the good way. (Firefly)
*Righteousness. Post-Serenity. The Operative meets a man called Jubal Early... The screen above the bar is still playing the Miranda footage every few hours. No matter how much he drinks, he can still see that with sharp-edged, undiluted clarity. In a perfect world, he thinks, he would be the most terrible monster in the black, but here there still be dragons. (Firefly)
