Running away, let's do it
May. 28th, 2008 06:55 pmIf there's one thing I never seem to get ahead of, it's end-of-semester assignments. Now there's 6,500 words to be done (2,500 for Monday, 4,000 for next Friday), and it's just...wearying. Questions, questions, questions.
Three Things of the Neat while I push back against the procrastination:
1) Shadow Unit season finale
Think the X-Files, think Millennium, think Criminal Minds, think Man From U.N.C.L.E., think Avengers. Shadow Unit is a tv show in prose form, with episodes written by Emma Bull, Elizabeth Bear, Sarah Monette, and Will Shetterly. The first part of their five-part season finale went live today, with a new part going up daily. Catch up on previous episodes, then join in the cliffhangersome fun with Refining Fire, part 1.
They're coming for you.
Just as soon as they realize something's gone wrong.
The worst week of your life has already begun.
2) Trailer for Joss Whedon's new sci-fi tv series Dollhouse
Need I say more? Trailer here. Starts in January.
3) Dreaming Again (edited by Jack Dann) available for pre-order
A sequel of sorts to Jack Dann's original anthology of Australian science fiction/fantasy/horror short stories (Dreaming Down-Under). With thirty-five new stories from established writers as well as newcomers, you're sure to find a bunch you enjoy. Apart from anything, the list of authors includes four of my Clarion South buddies and three of my tutors, all of whom I can vouch for ;).
