Lloyd Alexander, 1924-2007
May. 18th, 2007 09:55 pmAh. Apparently Lloyd Alexander, grand old man of fantasy, has died at the age of 83.
I had the great delight at Conflux 3 hearing him interviewed over the phone by Garth Nix. He was alert, and articulate, and interesting, and all the things you hope an author will be (Ray Bradbury and Arthur C. Clarke were also interviewed during the con; of the three, I would have picked Alexander to outlive us all)
I see from Wikipedia that his wife died two weeks ago. Funny (funny-sad, I suppose) how many old couples seem to pass away within a year of each other...
*sigh*
Lloyd Alexander, you will be missed.
