Book Rec: Nightlife
Apr. 22nd, 2006 12:19 amI just finished reading Nightlife by Rob Thurman, and enjoyed it enough that I'm giving it a bit of word-of-mouth, it being a first novel and all. It's an urban fantasy set in New York, and I figure if you like the Dresden Files or Anita Blake (yes to both for me), there's a good chance you'll enjoy this.
Cal Leandros is only half human. His mother was human, but his father's people are the stuff of nightmares. With the help of his half-brother, he's managed to stay one step ahead of them for four years. But now the nightmares have caught up...
It took me a little while to get into the flow of the story, but by Robin Goodfellow (used-car salesman) and the damned creepy troll under Brooklyn Bridge, I was entirely hooked.
So: Nightlife. Rob Thurman. Urban fantasy/dark fantasy. Me likey. Where is sequel?
