[livejournal.com profile] mhalachaiswords has a poll on the phenomenon that is slash fic. It's not long, so go fill it out :).

[livejournal.com profile] cgwriting has also written this essay examining why she dislikes slash fic. Well worth reading, and addresses one of my pet peeves - keeping canon characters in character!

I don't generally seek out slash pairings in my fic. But then, nor do I seek out het pairings. I'm not really in it for the romance. That being said, the most beautiful 'romance' fic of any sort I ever read was a slash pairing, semi-canonical, of Crowley and Aziraphale from Pratchett and Gaiman's Good Omens (which is a good book, btw - the Apocalypse Made Funny. Go read it).

What it comes down to, I guess, is that if the thing's well-written, I'll read it.
